I run an exciting social enterprise called Evenbreak, which helps inclusive employers (who understand the benefits of a diverse workforce) to attract more talented disabled candidates.
Evenbreak is the only not-for-profit job board run by disabled people for disabled people in the UK. We have three aims:
1. To help inclusive employers find more talented disabled candidates
2. To help disabled job seekers find work with employers who will value their skills
3. To promote the benefits of employing disabled people
Employers who advertise their vacancies on Evenbreak include Network Rail, BBC, EY, John Lewis, E.ON, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Rank, Unipart, Asda, Greggs and many, many more.
Our thousands of candidates come from a very wide range of sources and have a vast array of experience, skills, talents and qualifications.
Evenbreak is independently assessed as being the most accessible job board in the UK. We won "Newcomer of the Year 2014" (OnRec), Runner-up (to Sainsbury's) in the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative awards and Midlands Finalist in the FSB/Worldpay Business Awards.
I am proud to be Patron of the Inclusive Skills Competitions, organised by the National Association of Specialist Colleges, which showcase the many and varied talents of young students with learning or other disabilities.
Prior to founding Evenbreak I was a diversity trainer and then ran a diversity training company. I have a Diploma in Training Management, an M.Sc. in Human Resource Development, am widely published in the field of training and diversity and was a finalist in the Stelios Disabled Entrepreneurs Award in 2008.
