With diverse experience across private and public sector, Sam Olsen is currently on a two-year secondment from the Civil Service to act as Chief Executive Officer for the charity Movement to Work (MtW). MtW is a not-for-profit coalition of UK employers, youth-outreach organisations, training providers and government allies – all aiming to level the playing field for young age people aged 16-30 facing barriers to work. MtW works with employers, free-of-charge, to design and implement brilliant work experience and youth employability programmes, either in-house or through one of our recommended training providers. Its key aim is to break the cycle of ‘no experience, no job’ that so many young people face by creating great opportunities to boost their prospects. Previous to MtW, Sam was a Whitehall senior civil servant, Chair of the DfE Disability Group, championing inclusion and diversity across the department.
