Elon Musk has asked users of Twitter to vote via a poll on whether or not he should stay the CEO of the popular social media platform.
The tweet read: “Should I step down as head… I will abide by the results.”
So far, more than 16 million people have voted in his poll. And, as it stands, 57.5 percent of people have voted ‘Yes’.
In a later Tweet, Mr Musk wrote “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it.”
He also wrote: “Those who want power are the ones who least deserve it.”
This follows Mr Musk’s turbulent time as CEO of Twitter since he took control in October following a $44nb deal.
Since then, Mr Musk has made many changes to the company, including making mass-scale redundancies, as well as ending remote working for his employees.
His actions have resulted in wide-scale criticism, with hate comments even being projected onto Twitter’s San Francisco HQ.
