UK professionals working in the City of London are among the poorest workers in Britain, new figures show.
Data, compiled by CV-Library, shows that based on new roles advertised in Q3 2015, the average annual salary in London is £36,905; just 16.6% greater than the national average of £31,625 per year.
However, the large costs involved in living in London prompted by spiraling rents and travel costs means that workers in the capital lose great chunks of their salary to added extras.
The premium costs in the capital drastically outweigh the slightly higher-than-average salaries, meaning Londoners have less disposable income than anyone else in the country.
